Working across Essex, Southend & Thurrock, this position will play a leading role to strengthen and champion good safeguarding standards and practice across clubs and community groups delivering all forms of physical activity and sport.

Duties of the role will include:

• Lead and support the promotion of welfare best practice for both children, young people, and adults, particularly with Club Welfare Officers and associated roles in community-based settings.
• Facilitate and support reporting and referral of safeguarding cases and if appropriate, resolution of lower-level concerns.
• Connect people and partners working on welfare, both within and across the sport and physical activity sector, and inside to outside sport e.g. statutory services, local safeguarding boards.
