This week Essex Safeguarding Children Board announced dates for four Stay Safe Conferences that will be taking place early in the new year.
Working alongside the Stay Safe Groups, ESCB will be hosting the conferences in February and March and encourage anyone working with children and families in Essex to attend for the opportunity to learn and maximise networking opportunities.
The focus of the conferences is Prevention of teenage suicide and promoting positive emotional health and wellbeing for young people. This theme is echoed throughout the programme for the day which includes; creating understanding that it’s ok to talk about suicide, learning from the thematic review of teenage suicides in Essex, promotion of multi-agency working and the development of confidence in working with young people who express suicidal ideation and understanding how they can be supported.
The attendees will have the opportunity to learn from sessions provided by Papyrus, a national suicide prevention charity, The Essex Emotional Health and Wellbeing service and Essex Educational Psychologists.
