The Essex Safeguarding Children Board are encouraging parents and carers to improve their understanding of child exploitation (CE) through the 'Parents, Did You Know?' campaign launching this national CSE day, by signposting to a range of support for themselves and for their children during a week of activity to highlight the day.
The campaign focuses on key areas of child exploitation which you can learn more about by either visiting our main Child Exploitation Hub Page, or visiting each of the theme focused pages below.
Sharing with your children and encourage open conversation about child exploitation and where they can find information, guidance and help.
Sharing with other parents/carers and family members and let them know about the support we offer on our website and guide them to this page.
The Parents, did you know? campaign will also be launching a number of events across Essex over the coming year which parents can sign up to, or just drop by.
The events will be run by the Essex Safeguarding Children Board in partnership with Barnardo’s and The Children’s Society and will feature the topics:
They will provide an opportunity to have direct conversations with a range of services, including Essex Police, Essex Children’s Social Care, The Children’s Society, Barnardo’s, and other partner organisations. There will be a range of short talks put on throughout the day which can be booked in advance or drop in and attend on the day.

The 'Parents, Did You Know?' campaign builds on the successful 'I Didn’t Know Campaign' that has ran across Southend, Essex and Thurrock over the last three years, which had the same aims of providing important messages to the public in relation to exploitation of children.
